Would Einstein be on Twitter?

This is one of my favourites… the title of a Euro Science Open Forum (ESOF) in Turin in 2010. I could not help but blog about in SciDev.Net’s ESOF 2010 blog.

The session, dealing with scientists and modern social media tools for communication had a catchy query:  had social media tools existed back then, would Einstein have blogged, tweeted or chatted about his theories on Facebook?

That was not the only interesting query to pop up at ESOF 2010. One session pondered on: Are science journalists becoming too tame to be watchdogs?

BTW, at the next ESOF 2012 in Dublin, there were a verdict on Einstein coping with the modern day pressures on scientists: his chances of getting hired as a freelancer, blogger or entrepreneur were bright.
